About

I'm a young radio producer based in Melbourne. I've worked in community radio for 10 years as well as spending a bit of time at tbe ABC. The majority of my work has been broadcast on Panorama

In recent times I've started to send stories to The Wire

This blog is a space for me to discuss and analyze the stories I produce as well as looking at what others are doing around the industry.

Uni

just decided to read over course guides again for the first time since I started

things to do…

1. Work out getting credit for at least 1 subject next semester otherwise I can’t graduate

2. Write up all the blog entries I have to hand in next week - might be handy to work out what the ANZAC day and easter holiday readings were?

3. Work out what the ‘writing exercises’ are? I’ve only been in class for 1

4. Find talent for and conduct, edit and prepare an interview for media industries subject (due next week too)

5. Work out how to deal with class participation aspect of media industries  - by the time we got to week four I’d heard enough times from guest lecturers that it is a shit fight to get into the industry.  I stopped attending (We did a year long, two semester, subject in the final year of undergrad which was identical to this subject as well. I’ve heard enough ‘media is hard get ready to fight’ lectures in my life.)

6. Come to terms with the reality that points 4 and 5 probably mean I will fail.

7. Explain point 6 to mother who wrote application for course, filled in enrollment form and pointed me in the direction of my classes.

8. brace for full on response to this post from class mates and lecturers alike

Ok, lets get to work… I guess?
